Fatherhood is more than a title—it’s an evolving psychological journey that shapes identity, emotional resilience, and personal fulfillment. Dr. Matthew Peloquin founded Fathers Therapy to provide specialized coaching and support for fathers struggling with divorce, custody battles, parental alienation, and the mental health challenges that follow. His approach is rooted in scientific research, real-world experience, and a commitment to redefining fatherhood in modern society.
Dr. Peloquin’s academic background in psychology, sociology, and communication sciences provides a unique foundation for understanding how fathers experience loss, grief, and emotional disconnection in the wake of divorce or separation. He earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Communications from the University of Massachusetts, followed by a PsyD in Counseling with a concentration in Men’s Mental Health and Divorced Fathers.
His work challenges outdated perceptions of masculinity, emotional suppression, and fatherhood roles—helping men develop emotional intelligence, resilience, and a renewed sense of self after major life changes.
Beyond his work at Fathers Therapy, Dr. Peloquin is an advocate for fathers’ mental health, a researcher in the psychology of fatherhood, and the founder of Support Fathers Rights Inc.—a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on breaking the stigma around men’s emotional health and self-care. He is also an active member of the Parental Alienation Study Group (PASG), working alongside legal and mental health professionals to advance awareness, intervention strategies, and support systems for alienated parents.
Fathers Therapy is more than just a resource—it’s a place where fathers reclaim their identity, process their emotions, and build the confidence to navigate post-divorce parenting with clarity and strength. Whether you’re struggling with the emotional weight of losing daily fatherhood, the uncertainty of high-conflict co-parenting, or the long-term impact of alienation, support is available.
Fathers often face unique emotional challenges that go unrecognized—whether it’s the grief of losing daily parenting time, the frustration of high-conflict co-parenting, or the stress of navigating custody battles.
Counseling provides a dedicated space for fathers to process emotions, develop coping strategies, and regain confidence in their role as a parent.
At Fathers Therapy, we offer personalized support designed specifically for dads, helping them manage stress, rebuild father-child connections, and navigate the complexities of post-divorce parenting.
